Networked Miele domestic appliances with WLAN technology offer a wide range of options and additional benefits. The system has been developed by Miele to make them as easy as possible to install and use in the private/home environment.

Successful networking of the devices depends on other components and systems, such as your internet connection, home network and smartphone. We have compiled the necessary system requirements for you below:

Necessary infrastructure

Detail specification

WLAN with sufficient signal strength at the installation site

The following WLAN requirements apply:

  • WLAN according to IEEE standard 802.11b/g/n (20 MHz channels)
  • Frequency band: 2.4 GHz
  • WPA / WPA2 encryption enabled
  • DHCP activated
  • Only IPv4 IP addresses are supported.
  • multicastDNS / Bonjour (Apple), IGMP Snooping enabled
  • SSID must be permanently visible
  • Ports 443, 80, 53 and 5353 usable
  • The IP address of the DNS server should correspond to the IP address of the standard gateway/router.

For a simplified connection to your home network, the WPS Push Button configuration is also supported.

WLAN connections that are preceded by a captive portal (network pre-switching pages such as in hotels) cannot currently be used for networking.

When using mesh, Miele recommends using products only from one manufacturer and following the manufacturers installation instructions.

Deviations from the aforementioned requirements as well as special network configurations may mean that the networking of Miele appliances or individual functions are not available or only available to a limited extent.

We are committed to supporting all our customers as far as possible, but the configuration of the home networks is the responsibility of the customer, for which we cannot provide support.

Internet connection of the domestic WLAN network (Internet connection with stable bandwidth)

A proxy server is currently not supported.
VPN connection is currently not supported.

Apple iOS or Android™ smartphone with installed Miele app

The Miele app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or on Google Play Store in all countries where Miele@home is marketed.

The current terms of use and data privacy can be viewed at any time via the Miele app without a user account/device installation.

The iOS Miele app currently requires iOS 13 or higher. Older versions are not supported.

The Android Miele app currently requires Android 8 or higher, older versions are not supported. On Android, we assume that the Google Play Services are installed. Also, our app can currently only be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

It is recommended to perform available operating system updates.

We reserve the right to adjust the minimum requirements for the version of the smartphone operating system over time with new app versions.
In principle, our aim is that the Miele app can be used on all commercially available smartphones and tablets that meet the above requirements. Due to the large number of different devices, the function or partial function cannot be guaranteed in every individual case.

Miele user account

(can be created with the Miele app)

Networked domestic appliances are installed using the Miele app. A Miele user account must be created in order to install and use the networking functions.

Miele domestic appliances with WLAN

Up to 12 Miele domestic appliances with WLAN networking can be securely integrated into a Miele user account. If there are more than 12 appliances in a Miele user account, there may be restrictions such as longer charging times.
