Model L is Miele's first canister vacuum cleaner, a design which has remained valid through to the present day. New features include a floor attachment for carpeting, rubber bumpers and a Bakelite casing.

Miele's cradle washer arrives on the scene, emulating the age-old principle of dragging laundry to and fro under running water. Such a large machine requires the use of an electric motor.
